Heyaz.. Tentative itinerary in extended comments of this entry.
Well, off I go! For this trip, I’ll have a cell phone (408) 205-0969, I’m
checking voice-mail on it. I’m hitting up the Del Norte Centre First Annual
Reunion up in Jed Smith State Park this weekend (Oct 9-10th).
In addition to what’s on the itinerary, I want to check out some of the cool
stuff on the 101, so our route back will likely take us on the coast of
Oregon.

Future trip: Early December SFO->Bangkok, with a few days there. Then about
a week in Vietnam with John T. Then
head off to Bangalore (Karnataka, India) with the parents. Hopefully there
I’ll get to do a little hiking and whatnot. A recent (Aug, anyone got it?)
issue of ‘Outside’ magazine mentioned ozoneindia.com and kalirafting.com
that do adventure stuff, and charge ~$30/trip.
If you’re going to be in any those places, we’ll be sure to hang
out! And if you’ve heard of something awesome or otherwise spectacularly
amazing that’s not commonly heard of there, I’d love to hear about it too.
So! That’s it for now, feel free to leave comments, and this is probably
the article that roadtrip highlights will be posted to if they’re small.
(Bigguns might get their own..)

Here’s the road-trip itinerary by Greg Gherardi attached!

> I have here an Itinerary:
>
> EUGENE, OR: I’ve discovered this town is very countercultural. Too much planning for this location would ruin the effect.
>
> SALEM, OR: State Capital. Research fir this region is limited. At the Capital building there is the “Moon Tree”. The seed of the tree was carried to the moon on an Apollo moon landing. (filmed at a soundstage in Burbank)
>
> PORTLAND: Much to do here. Very ‘Metro’. If it’s a saturday on arrival there’s a very strange countercultural ‘saturday market’. It’s whereabouts are as of yet unkown.
>
> ON TO THE VOLCANO: Continue Northbound. Exit at Hwy.504 East. Continue 43 miles to either one of 2 vistas (preferably Johnston Ridge Observatory, if open to public)
>
> OLYMPIA: Town not fully researched. Very decadent State Capital.
>
> SEATTLE: Truly the promised land. Too much to list. Although I must mention the presence of an IMAX theatre with 2 features presented in 3D. I must recommend film about the Bugs. Bladder Destablization is quite likely with such an effect, however. Cost:$8. Also on the agenda: The Space Needle. (of course).
>
> Much more when it becomes available. Over and out.
